Strategic communications: From creating internal communication programs and plans (including weekly news and industry updates for internal staff) to drafting talking points and communications positions for proactive and strategic communications plans, I excel at producing a full range of communications plans and content for clients across a range of industries. My focus in these programs is to create clear, concise, and measurably effective communications that align with my clients’ goals and help drive alignment and action. For some clients, I also regularly review existing plans or drafted pieces to ensure drafted content is optimized to meet their needs.

Facilitation: I regularly work with clients to custom-design programs that deliver high-impact meetings. My work includes pre-work to understand the client’s objectives, research for supplementary reading that can help set the stage for a strategic discussion, development of targeted and outcome-focused agendas, logistics and set-up, active facilitation during meetings, and post-meeting work that includes developing a summary of specific action items and next steps.

Marketing: From creating comprehensive messaging and marketing plans that span multiple years to crafting and implementing individual marketing campaigns aimed at short-term results, I develop a full range of marketing-focused projects. My experience includes creating a grassroots education campaign aimed at informing a specific constituency about changes to nondiscrimination protections; developing a two-year messaging and marketing plan for a state-based nonprofit organization; and managing all aspects marketing for a regional law firm with an international reach including creating marketing plans for more than 40 individual attorneys as well as five distinct practice groups. 

Custom Business Development Planning & Executive Coaching: My work includes coaching executives across a range of industries on communications and system challenges they encounter in their roles. This work is customized to the client’s needs, but can include weekly sessions to problem solve and develop action plans to creating communications plans for executives to implement along with other internal stakeholders. This work also includes creating custom business development plans for all level of professionals — from those who are just starting their careers to professionals who need a fresh look at their business development practices with an aim of increasing quality connections. My goal in this is to help make communications a more automated (and fun) process for people.

Public Relations: As a former editor of a regional trade publication, and as the first-line of defense for a high-profile nonprofit, I have experience with all types of public relations and media campaigns — proactive, reactive, crisis, and everything in between. My work includes handling media inquiries, proactively pitching media stories to national publications, as well as handling crisis communications when they arise.
